Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for more than 20 years. She's also an accomplished public speech writer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency the site which features video and posts on the representations of women in pop media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has been awarded prizes for her work, is a feminist blogger. She is the author and executive director of Feminist Frequency which is an education, non-profit site that examines the representation of women in pop culture narratives. She's determined to dismantle stereotypes about women and how they appear in popular culture. Additionally, she works to raise awareness about online harassment targeted towards women as well as marginalized groups of people. Sarkeesian holds a Masters in political and social thinking from York University. As a public speaker, she's well-known and has been a speaker at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group.
